Inspirational Quote by J.K. Rowling

'We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.''

As is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.'

Make A Statement with BELTS

Cinch your waists tight with the best slimming accessory of all times - BELTS.

It's my favourite accessory as the variety is endless to start with. A belt can turn an otherwise boring outfit into a Fabulous Outfit. It's how amazing a thick belt can have a slimming effect, even better and cheaper than liposuction surgery:) No side effects too, probably lines on your tummy which will just vanish after a day.

My collection of belts has grown tremendously ever since I discovered the miraculous effect of a belt can create the slimming effect. In fact, I feel naked and waistless now without a belt. One of my favourite shops for great belts is surprisingly BYSI. A $19 belt can create wonders at times with the right outfit. Matching it with the right colours can create a world of a difference to a monotone outfit. Even that perfect LBD can look even more devilish and glamourous with the right belt.

Are you convinced yet? Stay tuned as I share pictures of stunning effects of belts. Seeing is believing so stay tuned to be convinced on the power of just a simple belt. You don't need a Prada belt to look fabulous.

Once again, you don't have to break the bank to be a fashionista :) It's all about the 3Rs + 1S- Recycle, Recreate, Revamp and Surprise *___________*

A Wish Come True

Christmas came early today :)

Today must have been one of the happiest days, as I finally fulfilled my wish to get my hands on Sex and the City full DVD collection. All thanks to my dearest angel sweet buddy - Mich, who took the trouble to lookout for the DVDs and even called me all the way from Los Angeles just to check if the price was okay with me. This is always why it's better to have few good friends than have many acquaintances. Good friends will go the distance (literally) to fulfill your wishes.

Initially was a long indecisive pause to forgo the DVDs and the call ended. After a split second of deep immense regret, an sms was sent immediately to "Mr Ng" (mich's hubby) to reverse the decision. What was I even thinking when I said "No"? So what if it was slightly expensive? This whole collection has been on my wishlist forthe longest time ever since I got hooked on the series.

I'm really glad that the treasured collection is finally in my hands now. I was just telling my fellow sisters that this may well be buried with me so that it can last me throughout the lifetime. We can all meet in Heaven and watch the series together. That's what I called perfect reunion:)

Now nothing's gonna stop me while I rekindle my love with S.A.T.C sisters...here i come....

Let me end off with a favourite quote from my favourite character - Carrie Bradshaw:

"Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous."

p/s: Erm...the husband has been pre-informed that I'm spending my nights with SATC.

My Family, My Love

PRECIOUS

It has been a while since I last blogged, all partly due to work and family commitments and in part due to lack of inspiration.

A recent episode in taking a family portrait has sort of rekindled my writing passion.

We went to a professional photographer to have our portraits taken. After viewing the fabulous photos amidst nice emotional music, we found out to our horrors of horror that I can never get the CD, even offering to pay a reasonable sum for it. The most I can get is to get the hard copy prints, nicely framed or choose to have a nicely bound coffee table book. The above photo is what the kind photographer offered out of sympathy that I misunderstood the T&Cs of the promotional price. One and only soft copy of our family portrait - which is why I named it "Precious".

It's truly a lesson learnt that I should always find out the details of the package before paying for the service. Some things seem too good to be true and one should never be naive enough to believe that good things come at a small price. On the contrary, there's no free lunch in this world.

The husband almost wanted to cave in and order the coffee table book. I am still thinking what's the best affordable solution (till now - NONE!) to have a copy of my photos without paying a BOMB for it.

I was given a contact of another kids photography studio and realised that it is indeed a high price to pay for capturing simple sweet memories.

I'm now in a total dilemma...to order the coffee table book as a nice memento for Ashley or to take new pictures again. hmmmmmm.........

Me & My Soliloquy...

*This lovely photo of Soliloquy is reproduced with lots of thanks from Heather's Blog.

I am proud to announce that I have acquisited yet another rare piece of new vintage necklace to my expanding collection of custom made jewellery.
My Soliloquy is made with love by my all-time vintage jewellery designer, Heather.
Here's the Soliloquy Story penned by Heather:
Poor Puffy the little bluebird flies around the garden looking for his friends who have migrated for the winter ! As he flies around he sings to himself...sob sob..Even though the garden is turning white for the winter there is still one brave little flower still showing its autumn colours !

Made with rare vintage pieces sourced by heather from around the globe, the brave little flower is a vintage Haskell finding dated around 1940-50s. The enamel white flowers are about 1960s. Puffy, the cute little blue bird, is relatively new from around the 1980s.

Check out H's collection on her blog and you will know why I adore her vintage jewellery collection. Click now for a preview of her collection -
